Love is a DiseaseLove is not an emotion.
Emotions are formed,
And can be controlled.
Plato stated,
"Love is a serious mental disease".
An incurable illness,
That makes cancer appear as
A simple head cold.

We can't choose who we love,
Nor can we choose
how it takes over.
This genetic mutation,
Passed down,
From the earliest of times,
Can send even the most normal being,
Straight to the insane asylum.

It eats away at us,
From inside-out.
Suffering until the day we die.
Love is not an emotion.

The Best ThingOnce upon a time,
I remembered you and I.
Pulling apart the picture frame,
Like a lion untamed.

Every teardrop I would cry,
Over your sick little lies.
An internal warfare.

The Temple From My DreamsIn the center
Of the olive hued swamp,
Lies a temple made of stone,
Eroded away over the years.
Moss grows in the creases
And cracks.
Abandoned and left a mystery.

The temple calls me,
Tempting me to explore,
Even uncover what lies within.
Yet, everytime I get close,
I stop.
Dead in my tracks.
And I turn away.

One time I watched a maiden,
Pale with long dark hair.
She stumbled out of the temple,
Failing to notice me.
She reached the edge of the swamp,
And just like that,
She disappeared.

My dad has offered,
Even my peers have offered,
To travel into the temple with me.
But they can't.
It's impossible.
They don't see the temple,
It doesn't

You call me a waste of space and that you can't stand me.

When the dust settles you say you don't mean it.
You say I should know better than to believe it.

The Imaginary FriendSince the earliest of times,
She has followed me.
Watching my every move,
Even trying to control me.

We were best friends,

And maybe even bad influence.

After I would cradle a puppy,
I’d find her suffocating it.

We were close,
So close I let her give me a knife.
I had lost control,
And she made me kill them.

It burned my soul alive.

Make new friends,
And shut her out.

A Lost BoyThey took him in,
The harsh tides of Lake Michigan.
He pushed and stuggled,
To simply stay above water.
But he was pulled under,
Sinking, Drowning.

If only people could have understood,
What that boy had been through.
Even I didn't know him perfectly,
But he did cheat death once,
After his face was scarred,
In a fire that tried to engulf him.

Nobody ever treated him,
The way he deserved to be treated.
It wasn't his fault he was slow,
Or was covered in scars.
They bullied and teased him,
And I just stood there and watched it.

Nightmares Sleeping becomes harder and harder. I miss having her here, sleeping next to me. But it still feels like she's here. All the time. As I lay down, I feel her weight resting at the sheets. I hear her breathing. I feel her presence in the room. But when I turn around…She's still gone. And that fact alone is enough to shake me to the core. I feel scared and alone. I can't sleep, until I push that fact to the back of my mind. I'm waiting for her to wake up still…And, I feel like, I'll be waiting for a long time.
So, until then, I know that I'll just have to play pretend.
Then comes the guilt.
Because, as I sleep, all I see is her, living and

The Temple5 o’clock on a Friday night, we were in my backyard, determining who was it. My group of friends and I had this odd, little tradition where we would play marco-polo in the swamp behind my house. Dorky, right? Luckily, it was a gator-free swamp. Otherwise I’m sure we would have all been ripped apart and eaten alive by now.
There were 6 of us: Amber, Casper, Eddie, Lana, Mason, and I. “When was the last time you were it, Luna?” Eddie asked me.
My name actually suited me fairly well. My skin was pale (no matter how much sun I got), and I had bleach-blonde hair. Almost albino. I was a quiet person. I never really fought

As we all burned alive.

But she compromised.
Made a deal with the devil.

This morning she woke up,
Strong and confident.
Dressed up fancy,
Only to be taken away,

As Satan rised,

You’ll burn me with one touch.
I’ll freeze you with just a glance.

Sun and Moon.
You rise with the biggest star in the sky.
I return with the little light in the nighttime.

Sugar and Spice.
I live to sweeten your stone heart.
You live to heat up my soul.

War and Peace.
You’re eager to start a fight.
I’m there to pull you out of the chaos.

Dry and Wet.
You’ll carry me through a desert.
I’ll kiss you in the rain.

Winter and Summer.
The beauty of snow pulls you in.
